About 200 courses are taught in English during semester
All courses from every departments are open to exchange / visiting students

Nearly all courses from every departments are open to Exchange /Visiting students unless mentioned otherwise.
All courses have limited space available and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Exchange / Visiting students will do the Online Course registration on the very first day of the registration period.
-For Spring semester: during January
-For Fall semester: during July
Maximum credits for all HGU student is 22 credits.
A total of 12~15 Credits (3~4 courses) is regarded as an appropriate study load for exchange students.

During the first week of the semester, students can attend all courses students have registered for and have interest. Until the second week, students can make adjust to the schedule.
Credits system (US Credit system)
The credit of courses is based on the amount of teaching hours.
One course is usually 3 credits and is equivalent to approximately 2.5 hours of class hours per week.
Courses are usually held on one of the three categories of days: Monday and Thursday, Tuesday and Friday, and Wednesday
Credits are given only when a courses has been completed and passed.
The calculation for the ECTS - Credit system
Normally, 3 credits in HGU correspond to 5~6 ECTS in European Higher Education. (ECTS * 0.5 and rounding off the decimal point) However, the credit conversion depends on the Home institution's policy. Please inquire about the policy to your Home Institution coordinator directly for the most accurate information.
A+ = 4.5 = 95~100%
A0 = 4.0 = 90~94%
B+ = 3.5 = 85~89%
B = 3.0 = 80~84%
C+ = 2.5 = 75~79%
C = 2.0 = 70~74%
D+ = 1.5 = 65~69%
D = 1.0 = 60~64%
F = 0.0 = 0~59%
P= PASS / PF =Pass with Distinction

Q How do I get the syllabus / more information on the courses?
After you receive the acceptance letter (June / December), you will also receive a HGU student ID number. With the ID, You gain access to the Intranet called 'HISNET' (hisnet.handong.edu) where all syllabi are uploaded.
